Thirteen reasons Why (blog post 2)
In this book, Clay Jensen, and Hannah baker have a connection to the book we are reading in class. Siddhartha wanted to find himself and be at peace, Hannah Baker died and wanted to be at peace also. To be at peace they both took some risking chances. Siddhartha left his "holy home" and had everything going for him but he didn't feel like it was where he belonged. He didn't feel like he was at peace. Hannah risked her reputation after her death and made a whole bunch of recordings to show people that they were the reason for her death. She risked looking crazy to make herself feel at peace. Clay Jensen risked feeling at peace to be burdened by these recordings. He starts watching all these recordings to feel at peace again. Both these books have the same thing in common and that's risking it all to be happy and in peace. Hannah Baker died and felt in peace after her death by letting out how she really felt about everyone. She let out these videos to express her feelings and not hold anything in. She wanted to be in peace and happiness. Clay Jensen wanted to be at peace again so he risked his normal life to figure out what happened to Hannah Bakers. He risked it all to feel at peace after her death. He believes he was guilty for something but he doesn't know what until he watches all of those recordings. In both of these stories,"Siddhartha" and "Thirteen Reasons Why" they risk certain things to be at peace. They risk things that could change their life forever.
Do you think risking it all for the reasons they had was a good thing? Would you do anything to be at peace and have happiness like they did?
